OUTLOOK

There is no indication that we will see a fall in the number of incidents. Given the increase in violence, individuals should not attempt to fight off intruders but should comply and press their panic buttons when it is safe to do so. With load shedding and the approaching winter season, property owners should invest in solar lights for their premises and ensure that they have sufficient back up power supply to support their systems in the event of a power cut.

  • Lock up early and make use of your security systems. Test and understand the alerts that come from your security systems, and test regularly via the App.
  • Make sure that your security control systems are well protected from tamper by staff or intruders. Protected from ceiling and local access to tamper whilst off. The simple guide is that the alarm control equipment must sound and trigger before it can be attacked and bypassed. It should also be out of sight.
