Break-In, 27 August 2025, 2150hrs, S Parirenyatwa Road, City Centre, Bulawayo – A call for assistance was received prompting the immediate dispatch of a response team. On arrival, the crew discovered evidence of an unlawful entry. Inspection revealed that an unknown intruder had breached the precast wall, likely using a chisel and hammer to create an opening through which access was gained. Further checks showed that the intruder had also opened two holes in the rooftop, attempting
to enter the building through the ceiling compartment. However, there were no indications that access was successfully gained into any of the rooms. No property was reported stolen.
Break-In, 15 August 2025, 2300hrs, Khami Road, Steeldale, Bulawayo – An alarm signal was received from the above-mentioned site, prompting the immediate dispatch of a response team. On arrival, the team checked the premises together with the site manager, and they discovered that unknown intruders had broken the gate padlocks with unknown implements to gain entry. Alerted by the noise, the guard on site alerted the neighbours, who quickly called ZRP. ZRP swiftly attended and managed to apprehend the four suspects. Nothing was stolen, and investigations are ongoing.
Theft, 14 August 2025, Unknown Time, Elephant Hills Road, Victoria Falls, Matebeleland North – Copper cables supplying power to the premises were stolen from a transformer located outside the property. Authorities are investigating.
Break-In, 12 August, 0142hrs, S Parirenyatwa Street, City Centre, Bulawayo – An alarm signal from the premises prompted the immediate dispatch of a response team. On arrival, it was confirmed that a break-in had occurred. CCTV footage later showed two suspects entering and exiting via a sanitary lane. The intruders fled the scene, abandoning a bolt cutter and a pick head. No property was reported stolen, and investigations are ongoing.
Police are investigating an armed robbery incident that allegedly occurred at a business premises in Nyika on the 24th of August 2025. A group of ten suspects, armed with unidentified firearms, reportedly targeted the premises and used explosives to detonate a safe. The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. Investigations are ongoing.
Theft, 31 August 2025, 0312hrs, Warbury Road, Bluffhill, Harare – An alarm signal indicating cable tampering was received from the above-mentioned site. A response team was immediately dispatched, and upon arrival, they were informed that unknown intruders had dug up and stolen telephone cables. The incident was reported to ZRP for further investigation.
Armed Robbery, 27 August 2025, 2000hrs, Luveve Road, Entumbane, Bulawayo – A panic signal was received from the above-mentioned site, prompting the immediate dispatch of a response team. On arrival, they heard that four armed suspects in a silver Honda Fit stormed the premises, threatened staff, and fired a shot into the air before demanding cash. The robbers forced staff members to lie on the ground before confronting the supervisor and seizing safe keys. They accessed the storeroom safe and stole an undisclosed amount. No injuries were reported, and investigations are ongoing.
Armed Robbery, 18 August 2025, 0159hrs, Dangamvura Road, Mutare, Manicaland – A panic signal was received from the above-mentioned site after four unknown suspects forced entry, restrained the on-duty guard, and used explosives to access a money safe. The suspects fled the scene with money and other valuables. Upon arrival, police reported that trackers showed stolen laptops from another site had passed the fuel station, suggesting the possibility that the same suspects were involved. Investigations are ongoing.
Theft, 14 August 2025, 0405hrs, Mineral Road, Light Industrial, Masvingo – The on-duty guard reported that unknown intruders had siphoned fuel from a truck parked within the premises. Investigations are ongoing.
Theft, Unknown Date & Time, Plumtree Road, Donnington, Bulawayo – Authorities are investigating the suspected theft of a substantial quantity of fuel from a local service station over the period from June to August 2025. Preliminary findings indicate possible involvement of station personnel. Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of loss.
Armed Robbery, 30 August 2025, 0114hrs, Lytton Road, Workington, Harare – An alarm signal was received from the above-mentioned site, prompting the immediate dispatch of a response team. A vehicle panic signal on arrival necessitated the dispatch of an additional team. The response teams encountered approximately six armed robbers, who exchanged gunfire before fleeing the scene. Inside the premises, two private security guards were found bound. The intruders entered the building by forcing open the reception window and cutting through the burglar bars where they then attempted to access the strong room with a heavy-duty grinder, which was recovered at the scene. The suspects fled with the guards’ security equipment and cell phone. Investigations are ongoing.
Suspicious Person, 27 August 2025, 2100hrs, Silver Crescent Road, Kelvin West, Bulawayo – A report was received from the guard on site stating that he heard a knock at the main gate. When he went out to investigate, he sighted an unknown man who fled the scene upon seeing the guard. Nothing was reported stolen.
Theft, Unknown Date & Time, Dunlop Road, Donnington, Bulawayo – A call was received from the client reporting the alleged theft of used empty bags. No signs of forced entry were observed. Investigations are ongoing.
Theft, 18 August 2025, Unknown Time, Aerodrome Road, Mutare, Manicaland – The guard on duty reported that gear levers from a vehicle parked at the site had been stolen and replaced with those from a different vehicle. Investigations into the theft are ongoing.
Theft, 17 August 2025, 1313hrs, Simon Mazorodze Road, Southerton, Harare – The on-duty guard was approached by two unknown suspects who attempted to bribe him in exchange for access to the premises, with the intention of stealing scrap metal. The guard pretended to cooperate while discreetly alerting the control room, which immediately dispatched a response team. However, the suspects fled the scene before the team’s arrival.
Suspicious Person, 14 August 2025, Unknown Time, Godlwayo Road, Kelvin, Bulawayo – A panic signal was received from the premises, prompting the immediate dispatch of a response team. On arrival, the site manager reported that during a routine bag search, the on-duty private guard saw a firearm in a customer’s bag but allowed the individual to leave before activating the panic button. ZRP attended, and the matter is under investigation.
Armed Robbery, 14 August 2025, 2313hrs, Upton Road, New Ardbennie, Harare – A call for assistance was received from the on-duty guard. A response team was immediately dispatched. On arrival, it was established that five armed suspects had lured a guard to the gate and intercepted him at gunpoint. The guard was stripped of his uniform and forced to lead the suspects to a dog handler, who was also held at gunpoint. One suspect, dressed in the stolen uniform, stood guard while the others gained access to the warehouse and stole an unknown quantity of goods before fleeing the scene.
Break-In, 14 August 2025, 0100hrs, Chilonga Road, Chiredzi, Masvingo – A phone call was received from the site reporting a security breach. An unknown intruder, carrying a black satchel, was sighted at the backyard of the premises. It was established that the suspect had cut through the fence to gain entry. At the time of reporting, it had not yet been ascertained what items were stolen.
Break-in, 13 August 2025, 0112hrs, Highfield Road, Southerton, Harare – A call was received from the client reporting a security breach. A response team was immediately dispatched. On arrival, it was established that unknown intruders had cut through the razor wire at the backyard and gained entry with the aid of a ladder left outside. One bag of waste produce was reported stolen. The incident was reported to ZRP, and investigations are ongoing.
Theft, 13 August 2025, 2358hrs, Shurugwi, Gweru, Midlands – The on-duty guards reported that, while conducting routine patrols, they observed three unknown intruders fleeing the premises carrying approximately 30 metres of stolen razor wire.
Robbery, 17 August 2025, Unknown Time, Chitungwiza, Harare – A call was received from the guard reporting that, while en route to his duty post, he was approached by two unknown suspects who forcibly stole his cell phone and money. The incident was reported to ZRP, and investigations are ongoing.
Break-In, 17 August 2025, 2324hrs, Seke Road, Sunningdale, Harare – An alarm signal was received from the premises, prompting the immediate dispatch of a response team. On arrival, the team met the on-site private security guard and caretaker. Inspection revealed tools suspected to have been used by intruders next to the cash room. CCTV footage confirmed the presence of two unknown individuals inside the building; however, their point of entry and exit could not be determined. No items were reported stolen.
Theft, 15 August 2025, 1720hrs, Enterprise Road, Highlands, Harare – A vehicle belonging to a customer was broken into by unknown suspects while parked at the shopping centre. A significant amount of money and a laptop, which had been left in plain sight, were stolen. According to CCTV footage, the suspects had been following him for a while in the getaway vehicle, a Toyota Nadia AFM 6746. The matter was reported to ZRP and is under investigation.
Theft, 11 August 2025, 1147hrs, Zengeza 2, Chitungwiza, Harare – A panic signal was received from the above-mentioned address, prompting the immediate dispatch of a response team. On arrival, the site manager reported that the on-duty guard had apprehended a suspect attempting to steal chocolate. The individual was taken into police custody for further investigation.
Break-In, 27 August 2025, Unknown Time, Aintree Road, Highlands, Harare – A call was received from the occupant of the above-mentioned residence reporting that unknown intruders had gained entry into the premises by scaling the precast wall. The suspects then cut through the window burglar bars using unknown implements to enter the house and fled with undisclosed items. No alarm signal was received at the time of the incident, as the system had not been armed.
Break-In, 26 August 2025, Unknown Time, Trafalgar Road, Sentosa, Harare – A call was received from the resident of the above-mentioned address reporting a break-in. CCTV footage revealed one intruder crawling around the premises before forcibly opening the lounge door to gain entry. The suspect stole a cushion cover, cat biscuits, and a pair of binoculars before fleeing the scene undetected.
Assault, 17 August 2025, 0147hrs, Philadelphia Road, Borrowdale, Harare – A call for assistance was received after the private guard on duty had been attacked by unknown intruders. A response team was immediately dispatched, and, upon arrival, it was established that the guard had been struck on the head with a steel bar while attempting to intercept suspects who were stealing armoured cables from a transformer. ZRP attended the scene, and investigations are ongoing.
Break-In, 13 August 2025, 0303hrs, Fortunes Gate Road, Matsheumhlophe, Bulawayo – A phone call was received from the abovementioned residence after the occupant sighted unknown intruders within the premises. A response team was immediately dispatched, and on arrival, it was confirmed that the suspects had attempted to steal electricity cables but abandoned the attempt and fled the scene.
Theft, 11 August 2025, 0400hrs, 1st Avenue, City Centre, Bulawayo – The on-duty guard reported that his satchel, containing a torch, was stolen by unknown intruders while he was conducting patrols. No signs of forced entry were observed. The matter is under investigation.
Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on the 27th of August 2025 at approximately 1900hrs in Pumula South, near Tshebetshebe Elementary School, after a homeowner was ambushed upon arriving at his residence. The suspects allegedly fired a warning shot before ordering the victim out of his vehicle. They then fled the scene in his black Mazda Demio, registration number AFP 1401. Investigations are ongoing.
Two individuals in police uniforms visited a residence in Borrowdale, Harare claiming to be investigating a hit-and-run at a neighbouring property. They did not produce any official identification and departed in a red, unmarked vehicle with no number plates. Verification with Borrowdale Police Station confirmed that no officers had been dispatched.
A Zimunya man has been sentenced to five years in prison for car theft. On the 18th of August 2025 at approximately 1900hrs, the accused reportedly drove away with a vehicle left idling at a local shopping centre. Investigations led to the arrest and recovery of the stolen vehicle.

Police in Bulawayo are investigating two armed robberies that occurred on Sunday. In Emthunzini, a woman was awoken at approximately 0400hrs when three armed men forced entry into her home. The intruders, armed with a pistol and an axe, ransacked her bedroom and fled with just US$6. Later that evening in Pumula South, a man arriving home in his Honda Fit was confronted by three armed men who demanded money and his cell phone. The victim handed over the money before the robbers ransacked his property and drove away in his vehicle.

Police in Beitbridge have arrested two men in connection with a robbery that occurred on the 19th of August 2025. The suspects allegedly assaulted the victim with a knobkerrie and kicks before stealing a cell phone and money. Authorities are investigating.

A 33-year-old money changer was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday evening in Bulawayo’s Central Business District. The victim was seated in his vehicle outside a fast-food outlet when three armed men approached, smashed a window, and fired shots, injuring him in the hand before stealing a bag containing money. A Bulawayo couple was robbed of their car and money in a violent home invasion on Monday evening. Four armed men ambushed the couple and a relative as they arrived at their Emganwini residence. The suspects forced the trio into their home, stole a significant amount of money and a white Nissan Caravan, then locked the victims inside before fleeing. Police have launched a manhunt and are appealing to the public to report any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.

Three men have been arrested in Bulawayo for two break-ins at business premises, during which inverters, batteries, and groceries were stolen. The incidents occurred in Kelvin West in July 2025 and Magwegwe in August 2025. Police have since recovered some of the stolen property, and the suspects remain in custody pending a bail hearing.

A farm hand and a domestic worker appeared in court last Friday, charged with stealing from their employer. The incident occurred on the 10th of August 2025, when the farmer left his property in their care. Upon returning, he discovered his safe forcibly removed and a substantial amount of money, ammunition, and passports missing. Police investigations led to the recovery of part of the stolen money hidden by the domestic worker after the farm hand had fled to South Africa. Authorities
were able to track down the farm hand and the pair remains in custody.

A Gweru man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after being convicted of four armed robberies in and around the city. The man, who acted with three accomplices, targeted victims in Mkoba and Riverside, stealing money, goods, and a vehicle over a period of four months. During the offences, victims were threatened with firearms and other weapons. Police investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects still at large.
